TRUCKEE, Calif. — The Truckee Optimist Club is pleased to announce their upcoming spring and summer community events and fundraisers. The club's members completed their first annual Sports Equipment Drive at Truckee Regional Park during the annual Easter Egg hunt at Truckee Regional Park. Club members collected donations of sports equipment and purchased additional equipment to be handed out free of charge to youngsters in the community who did not have balls, gloves, bats, etc. Next up, the club will once again be barbecuing the lunch at Regional Park for participants of Truckee Clean-up Day on Saturday, June 2. Last year the club served approximately 700 lunches to the volunteers who helped clean the streets of Truckee.
