Welcome to the 2008 Best of Truckee/North Tahoe, People’s Choice publication.

We’re proud to offer this annual ‘Best Of’ contest, recognizing local businesses, people and places. Again this year we are honoring the best by geography, Truckee and North Tahoe.

Inside these pages you’ll find the ‘Best Of’ category winners and a short description submitted by each. The winners honored in these pages were chosen by you, the reader, through the balloting process. Hundreds of ballots arrived at the Sierra Sun and Tahoe World offices for counting and we appreciate your participation, it is after all a reader poll and the opinion of the readers is what we’re interested in.

All the people, businesses and icons recognized here are worthy of a visit. Stop in and see them. If you do, you’ll find… a great cup of coffee, baked goods, gift ideas, decadent desserts, dishes prepared by talented artists, fashionable clothes, sporting goods and much more.

We hope the title of ‘Best Of’ is viewed as an honor by the recipients and that it will be

designate you as one of the best.
